Default Could This be At All Viable for GvG?

I mostly doubt it, considering the l33tness of GvG, but it was just a crazy thought I came up with to try to utilize Siphon Strength. It would actually probably also be useful for TA, RA (possibly, though you would have to get a monk team), and PvE. It's meant as a linebacker to defend against Warriors, Dervs, and fellow 'Sins through attacker-shutdown and powerful, persistant knockdowns and DPS.

Counter Blow
Crushing Blow
Malicious Strike/Hammer Bash
Flail
Siphon Speed
Siphon Strength
Critical Eye
Resurrection Signet/Critical Defenses

The build's pretty simple: Throw up your buffs before engaging, hex your target with both SS's (Siphon Speed afterward to act as a cover hex), and start building adrenaline. Spam Counter Blow and follow up with Crushing Blow and Malicious Strike as needed to add more DPS as well as a Deep Wound. Try to keep Flail up as much as possible, which even when using Counter blow which will take a strike of adrenaline away, should be up approximately 5/6ths of the time. Reapply hexes and buffs as needed.

Now, you've got a melee both snared and gimped for damage, plus you're adding strong DPS on top of that. Also, you can of course apply Siphon Speed on any target for a snare, and if you bring Hammer Bash, you can assist spikes with HB+CB. As for damage, you've got about 40 DPS before attack skills and considering you can potentially knock down someone every ~4.5 seconds.

In comparison to a Dev Hammer warrior, this has utility in the form of snares, strong attacker shutdown, attacker KD's, and a slightly higher DPS (I think), whereas a Dev Hammer has utility in the form of more KD's (in most situations, especially if you bring Heavy Blow), A stronger spike, and the ability to penetrate the enemy front/midline. Basically, one is exceptionally strong against physical foes, and the other is just strong against everything, though has a tad bit less utility.

I really doubt this will be very useful, but it was just an idea I had to try to make use of an under-used skill. Any comments for improving it might be nice.

Can a warrior spam/even apply these hexes a lot? The DPS is still minimal, and it can be outclasses by a shock axe, and that has better utility. But I may be way off.

I think no...Really if you wanna use Siphon Strength (insert generic hex spike) and use siphon for the precursor.

I'm actually thinking going more in deadly arts and bringing almost solely utility, with maybe some assist spike...

No individual build makes sense without the context of the team build. That is all.

It could be used in the "low" end pvp (ra/ta :P).

But seriously Malicious Strike > Counter Blow...
Hammer Bash > Mal Strike.

Also Way of the Master > Critical Eye for this then again Critical Eye can be kept up 13 critical and cant be stripped.

@mrm- This is the assassin forum not warrior but a warrior could easily keep up siphon speed at 5 or so deadly.
